VIDEO: [link] Story time!
In January 2012, *
LilleahWest put up her Loftwing cosplay. I saw it and...needed it. So I decided to make it. 4 months/150 hours, $250, and many tears later, and I get this! I'm so darn proud of this thing. I love it like my first born child. ;_; There are still things I want to fix. I don't think he'll ever really be done, he keeps undergoing modifications before each convention.
So yes, before you ask, this was heavily inspired by *
LilleahWest, which is why I will never enter it in any contest. A personal decision.
While I may enjoy making fursuits and suiting, I am not a furry. I don't have anything against them(and actually most of the furries I've met are really sweet), I just don't identify as a furry. I am a costume enthusiast above all else.
Basically, he has
3D following eyes
Hinged jaw
8ft wingspan (around 10ft if you count my back)
Vision through neck
Paper-mache head
Half Sculpey, half Model Magic claws (They kept breaking XD)
Faux fur purchased from Fabric Empire
Blood, sweat, and tears

May I ask what links or references you used to make this? Or did you just use beastcubs wips?
I mainly used *LilleahWest's WIPs, but I also did hours and hours of research beforehand to understand how to make fursuits. Her WIPs were mainly just a guide, I had to figure out a lot of it myself.
The way I see it, I just don't identify as a furry. I like making fursuit cosplay mainly. So it's still in the cosplay realm. XD It's kind of complicated to explain.
